Allo is a balm that uses ingredients sourced from nature, to nourish and hydrate our largest organ - the skin. Vegan-friendly and suitable for all ages, Allo can be used on both the face and the body, as a moisturiser, lip balm and make-up remover. Created in the Adelaide Hills and made fresh to order.     

   

It all began when I was trying to find natural skincare for my children that was not housed in plastic, and did not have an extensive ingredient list with names and numbers that made no sense!

Having not much luck in the pursuit of a suitable product, my research on ingredients and balm-making began. Various ingredient combinations and quantities were trialled. Tins of balm sat on each of the children’s bedside tables for months, where they would apply different batches to their skin and provide me with feedback. With some tweaks here and there, I felt confident gifting the balm to extended family and friends, which prompted me to turn it into a small business, from which others could benefit.

It was important to create a name for the product, that related to our lives in some way. Allo was decided for two reasons. Firstly, it is short for Allocasuarina - a native sheoak found scattered around our property. Secondly, Allo contains the shortened name of someone who was very special to us. This man loved watching the birds amongst the native vegetation, one in particular being the striking and shy Scarlett Robin. These beautiful birds, are a symbol of charm, resilience, hope and new beginnings. It was a must, that the male version of the Scarlett Robin, graced the Allo label.

Allo is a joint project I would not have embarked on, without the help of my children and supportive family and friends.
